Enviromental issues now play a major part in everyone’s lives.

Everyday manmade materials that are not bio degradeable are needlessly wasted and disposed of at great expense, not only in monetary terms but at a great environmental impact to the world that we live in.

Most modern day thermoplastic materials are 100% recyclable which means that with the right knowledge and technology we can reduce our wastage and save on both cost and enviromental impact.

Transam Extrusions has invested soundly in the last 5 years in machinery that has the ability to process recycled materials that in some cases produce finished products that are almost as good as virgin materials. The extrusion techniques that we use enable us in many instances to offer our customers the choice between a recycled compound or a virgin compound, in fact we are now seeing customers introducing their own ‘Green Products’ in to the market place for which they insist on products being made from a wholly recycled material.

In addition we employ specialised waste collection services who sort any recyclables that we are unable to use to further reduce our landfill impact.

Transam regularly purchases compounds that have been re-granulated and reprocessed and manufactures a wide range of pipes and profiles from these materials. We will also use second hand cardboard boxes and plastic bags whenever we can.

We have also just invested in a large onsite granulator which enables us to re-granulate our scrap waste and re use it in ‘Green Products’. This not only saves on landfill waste but also reduces the need for virgin compounds to be produced.
